SportsGrid Daniel-Mogollon

Daniel Mogollon, Sr. Editor

New York City-born and bred Daniel Mogollon has worked in sports media for 17 years and is currently the Senior Editor at SportsGrid.

Daniel’s experience includes covering Major League Baseball, NFL, college football games, events like the Heisman Trophy, and interviewing coaches and players as a podcast and radio host.

A graduate of St. John’s University with a degree in Sports Management, Daniel decided he’d rather be on the media side of the sports business. He got his first break writing for Latino Sports. Since then, Daniel has worked in an editorial role for the NFL Draft Bible and All Media NY. His work has also been published in The Sporting News and on BetQL.

Daniel is a member of the Pro Football Writers Association, the Football Writers Association of America, and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and is an expert on everything football, baseball, and basketball related.

A gambler since high school, being the Senior Editor of a media company dedicated to sports gambling is the dream job he never even considered when he submitted his first column from Shea Stadium 15 years ago. That’s the same place a young Daniel nurtured his love of sports while cheering on his favorite baseball team.

Still based out of New York City, Daniel remains an avid sports fan despite the lack of success of his childhood teams (Mets, Jets, Knicks). That undeterred passion has driven him to victory in the sports gambling field.

Daniel spends much of his free time going to and watching games and talking about sports with family and friends. Some might say debating or arguing. Hobbies include naming random former athletes. On the rare occasion when he’s not doing something sports-related, you can find Daniel eating out or behind the grill.

Have you checked out the Regular Season Stat Leader Player Props at BetMGM

No? You may want to, especially if you're a fan of a team in the AFC West.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert (+750) leads the way for Most Regular Season Passing Yards, followed by Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes (+800), with Las Vegas' Derek Carr (+1000) not far behind representing the sixth-shortest odds. Denver's Russell Wilson (+2000) is tied for ninth.

It might surprise you that Carr is getting the most love among bettors (21.3% of the tickets, 27.7% of the handle). Not just among this group but the entire NFL.

Yeah, that motherf---er, Tom.

Shifting to Most Regular Season Touchdowns, Herbert (+550) is again the favorite, tied with Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Bucs. This time Mahomes (+800) is fifth, Carr (+1400) eighth, and Wilson (+1600) tied for ninth.

The market is leaning towards Carr and Herbert, with the gunslingers tied for the highest ticket percentage (13.2%), with Herbert leading the handle (15.5%), and Carr representing the biggest liability for the sportsbook.

Not only is the AFC Wild Wild West expected to be the most competitive division in the NFL in 2022, but with this quartet of quarterbacks, it should be the most explosive. Dare I say, the most watchable group of teams the league has ever seen.
